@ number 5

how can anyone possibly be stressed when jumping... it's like the most relaxing activity ever.

Some people can be impatient when learning/practicing, although this tends to go away with time

If at first you don't succeed, try, try again.

Bball iT / Re: More BBall vids?
« on: August 29, 2012, 07:58:01 PM »
There already is a tf2jump youtube channel, we could just make a bball playlist on that channel if we got enough vids. I have some demos (firstperson only) that I don't plan on doing anything with, if anyone wants them I'll upload them. They're mostly of me getting fragged though.

Generally people are not invited to do jump movies. Someone will anounce a democall (Tort is doing one at the moment), and people will submit their demos.

Jump Help / Re: Question(s?) about Ctap
« on: August 27, 2012, 09:38:02 PM »
I need to get this cleared up. I usually jump without ctap, but wanted to learn it for so long. The ctap tut was okay, but wasn't clear enough for me. Here are some of the questions:

  • What are the exact keypresses when doing a ctap?
  • Can I use a bind for ctap?
  • Do I need to hold crouch throughout the whole jump after doing the ctap(bear in mind I still don't know how to do it)?
  • Does demo-jumping need ctapping?

More questions when I have them.

Cheers.

To perform a ctap, tap crouch (the tap duration and more details are covered in anarchay's youtube tutorial), and when you release crouch, jump and shoot (as you would in a normal RJ) as you stand up.

Do not use a bind.

You don't have to hold crouch once you ctap unless you plan on doing some more jumps.

Demo jumping doesn't need ctap, although I may be wrong on this.

General Discussion / Re: i46 LAN

Hopefully next time we don't have them in earshot of casters... so many moments that even I got pissed off for the players.

The standard Starcraft method for handling this is booths for the players + earbuds underneath noise-cancelling headphones. Depending on the effictiveness of the headphones I don't know if the booths are actually required.

Hijacking this to talk about some other aspects of i46.

It's really awesome to see an international LAN. Even though competitive TF2 is not very well-developed yet (compared to the esports giants), there were some minor stream/sound issues, and some crashes here and there, I still enjoyed watching it. It would be really nice to see this grow to the point where international lans happen all the time.

And for the love of all that is good, Beta really needs to stop milking the crowd. The crowd will cheer when the crowd feels it is appropriate to cheer, there is no need to yell "Let's have a cheer for _____" every few minutes.

But most importantly, AMERICA (FUCK YEAH)

Wouldn't b4nny have been busy preparing for/embarking on a journey to Europe? A demo of him singing would be funny though

Yeah, Day9 is the best.  :P
Day9 Scream!

Also, what keyboards/other gear are you guys using? I'm using a Das Keyboard Professional, which, if you have money to spend, is one of the best keyboards ever (in my opinion).

How To Choose A Gaming Mouse

In reality using wireless is just fine if you don't care about the slight performance drop compared to wired mouses (mice?).

I'm using a cheap wired non-gaming mouse.
