Thanks for the feedback Heinz.

Yeah I know about the hints...I suck at explaining jumps :S

Also the bugs are known at the moment and will be fixed in a later update.

The final release has been uploaded.

Check some pictures of the map in the Dropbox folder link I provided.

Shunix...the map now has 20 jumps plus 2 bonus jumps...so it's not just another 10 jump map.  :P

the lightmap scale of the really large brushes. I usually reduce the entire map's lightmaps if rad size becomes too big though, go to Edit > Select All (I think), bring up the face edit sheet and put a number like 24 or something into the lightmap scale entry.
Thank you very much.  ;D

It works.

Jump Help / VRAD Help
« on: November 15, 2013, 01:14:46 AM »
Heya there,

Whenever I make a room around the size of 2600+ units in width or height...VRAD always seems to herp and crash when compiling. I have stuck hint brushes within the room and/or to the entrance of the room and it still crashes.

It's becoming rather annoying as I am nearing completion for my jump map :S

Any help would be much appreciated.

Edit:

Compile log...

Man I suck at detonator jumping. Haven't fully tested the B course, but A was pretty fun.

Looks a lot better.  My only complaint is that now the glass on 13 is nearly impossible to see.

Also in most cases, for aesthetics, it looks better if light actually comes from a source (ie, prop).

I can't do anything right now because Source SDK won't open hammer on my computer, and I forget the exact filepath for hammer.exe

Does anybody know where hammer.exe is located exactly?
Within the /bin/ folder in the /tf/ directory.

Jump Help / Feedback on map in progress
« on: August 03, 2013, 12:59:23 AM »
Heya there,

I decided I wanted to continue to try and make a jump map as I have really been inspired by maps like mouser, yucca, momentum and others.

What I am looking for is feedback on this map (which is a work in progress) in which has 6 jumps so far. The difficulty I am aiming for is medium, so this isn't intended to be a "learning" or "easy" map. If you could suggest things I could improve on or remove it would be so helpful.

Also, I am specifically wanting feedback for jump #5 as I have had some testers say that the height of the first platform is too high for that stage in the map. So I am unsure about whether to change it or not.

Any criticism is helpful...as we all learn by our mistakes :)

Jump Help / Advice to improve on these jumps...
« on: August 02, 2013, 04:34:26 AM »
Heya there,

I am just wondering if anyone could provide me (in anyway at all) some tips to improve my jumps in the below videos...

4starters - E10

4starters - B4

4starters - D2

I only have a few jumps in F, and one or two in E to complete for that map. Would anyone know any good maps with the difficultly level of course C and above?

Any help is appreciated.  :)

Heya there,

Played on this map earlier...see that the creator updated it.

How the heavens do you do E and F...

The new map design is quite amazing.
