Jump Help / VRAD Help
« on: November 15, 2013, 01:14:46 AM »
Heya there,

Whenever I make a room around the size of 2600+ units in width or height...VRAD always seems to herp and crash when compiling. I have stuck hint brushes within the room and/or to the entrance of the room and it still crashes.

It's becoming rather annoying as I am nearing completion for my jump map :S

Any help would be much appreciated.

Jump Help / Feedback on map in progress
« on: August 03, 2013, 12:59:23 AM »
Heya there,

I decided I wanted to continue to try and make a jump map as I have really been inspired by maps like mouser, yucca, momentum and others.

What I am looking for is feedback on this map (which is a work in progress) in which has 6 jumps so far. The difficulty I am aiming for is medium, so this isn't intended to be a "learning" or "easy" map. If you could suggest things I could improve on or remove it would be so helpful.

Also, I am specifically wanting feedback for jump #5 as I have had some testers say that the height of the first platform is too high for that stage in the map. So I am unsure about whether to change it or not.

Any criticism is helpful...as we all learn by our mistakes :)

Jump Help / Advice to improve on these jumps...
« on: August 02, 2013, 04:34:26 AM »
Heya there,

I am just wondering if anyone could provide me (in anyway at all) some tips to improve my jumps in the below videos...

4starters - E10

4starters - B4

4starters - D2

I only have a few jumps in F, and one or two in E to complete for that map. Would anyone know any good maps with the difficultly level of course C and above?

Any help is appreciated.  :)

Heya there,

Played on this map earlier...see that the creator updated it.

How the heavens do you do E and F...

The new map design is quite amazing.

Jump Help / Wallpogo (going down)
« on: February 22, 2013, 01:15:06 AM »
Heya there,

I'm not exactly new to rocket jumping at all. I have completed some of the easier jump maps (beef, adventure, rckteer etc), however I have come to a point on a particular jump map where it's taking me weeks to even barely progress with this technique.

I am of course talking about the level of D5 on jump_4starters_a9. This was the very first jump map I started to learn to jump on. However when I am at D5 (only have D5, D10 and D11 as well as D secret to complete) it seems to be that I am sticking all this effort in for very little gain.

I have watched quite a few people complete D5, as well as seen the wallpogo someone very kindly put up on YouTube. I am fine at staying at a level, as I aim slightly to the left of center to keep straight. However when I go to wallpogo down I seem to drop at a faster rate than everyone else. This means the likelyhood of me falling and failing is pretty much 100%.

Anybody have tips for wallpogo'ing down?
