Jump Help / def. not an airpogo thread
« on: November 02, 2013, 10:49:34 PM »
jk, I can understand how crouched airpogo works, but cant figure how uncrouched key presses are
i tried airpogoing without pressing duck at any time, but at the second pogo, it seems i loose TOO much speed so i cant pull another pogo
am i supposed to keep pressing and letting go crouch? so i keep a low height and decent speed?
some quick explanation would be great, sry for bothering once more

General Discussion / About headset, dedicated soundcard and stuff
« on: October 04, 2013, 10:57:00 AM »
Welp, posted it originally on a local forum, but got nothing, so I decided give a try on Steam forums (http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?p=34979568#post34979568)  and here

There you go:
Hello everybody. Atm I'm using onboard souncard (my MOBO is ASUS H61) paired with a Siberia v2 (3.5mm jacks), though imo this combo is not offering good positional audio and bass. Already tried using the USB soundcard for Siberia v2, but it's awful. Keeping that in mind, I'd like to know if it's worth using the PC360 without any dedicated soundcard, or if it is better to pair it with some not expensive soundcard, or, still, stick with my Siberia and grab a decent dedicated soundcard. Below there are both screenshots I took that indicates my MOBO model and chipset, and the current audio device.

If you have some knowledge about audio and sh1t, feel free to recommend me something else, it would be really nice!
I'd really appreciate some in-depth explanation, if possible.

PS - I found out recently that my Nvidia videocard driver includes a HD audio driver too, not sure about that (what is the point of that anyway?). Welp, just fyi I'm using GTX 550 Ti, current driver is 327.23

Thank you for reading!

General Discussion / Little doubt ...
« on: July 24, 2013, 07:59:43 PM »
Hey, uhm, based on your experience as jumpers, could someone tell me if that last airpogo was done crouching or not?

ROTW #27 - Lambda on jump_twist_beta

I thought that shooting and deting the stickies that fast while crouching could mess up the jump, as it makes you go higher and faster than usual. Maybe he mixed both types of pogoing? I'm not sure, maybe Lambda himself could answer this ;_;
I've been practing airpogo without holding crouch (obviously the initial jump is crouched, but the subsequent are not), so this would help some. Sry for bothering

General Discussion / Weird pitch sounds while at offline maps
« on: June 28, 2013, 04:41:51 PM »
Hey, idk yet if it's happening only with j_ maps or vanilla too, but suddenly there are high pitched sounds while playing, shortly after there's a growl. Prolly there's is some corrupted .wav file, but I couldn't find it anywhere. Btw, I deleted some cache files that were created today (tf2_textures.vpk.sound.cache and tf2_misc.vpk.sound.cache), but after quitting tf2 and entering again, they pop in tf folder. Strange thing is that my rockets/stickies sounds are fine. Never happened this to me, any tips or thoughts?

edit - This is only happening with j_ring and j_ring2_a5 AND jump_heavy plus (prolly) other maps.

General Discussion / viewmodel_fov for demo
« on: June 15, 2013, 06:39:47 PM »
What ya guise think about it? Use a value, or 0?
I'm practing demo since 3 weeks ago, though only during weekends.
Anw, I find it better for aiming with 0 value, but it feels awkward, can't get used to it.
As solly I use viewmodel_fov 90 for RL, and it works great, but it feels terrible for me as demo.
Share your thoughts, please.

General Discussion / Watching own demo
« on: June 15, 2013, 12:01:20 AM »
Hey guys, I've tried recording both using SourceTV and regular record command at console, though I can't switch from POV to 3rd person, and it was what I had in mind ...
Need to watch my airpogos as demoman to see what am I doing right or wrong during the jump.
From STV demo, I can't even go into 1st person view, it's only possible to see the map from a wide angle and nothing more, by playing the regular demo I'm stuck with POV and can't change to 3rd person or free perspective by using spec_mode.

I hope you guys understood the issue I'm describing.
thanks and xoxo, any tips are welcome

Jump Help / Disable resupply sounds (hey, sup? :3 )
« on: May 11, 2013, 06:52:40 PM »
Hi, hum, i'm not an active member, though I oftenly jump at a local sv. I'd like to ask if there's some way to turn off resupply sounds, it really annoys me when using offline regen script. Would like to keep painsevere sounds (if it's not possible to keep hurt sound while using stuff to turn off resupply sounds, then it's okay).

That's pretty much it, thanks for replying!

Jump Help / Demo jumping
« on: February 28, 2012, 01:55:47 PM »
First of all, hi  :)
Well, I've been trying to learn demo jumping by myself these days, since I already know all Solly techniques.
But, I am failing hard, to me it's incredibly insane to infinite pogo, air pogo and that stuff
Already searched tuts but only found one learning how to Pogo.
Do you guys have any tips do learn air pogo, wall pogo?

edit - what maps do you recommend for training with demo?
