Last time I was on surfit I would fix something for them... having this on was their wish (kailey and I both just assumed it had been taken care of when the param was released) I just updated all the servers to 1 since i was in there...

I thought I fixed the mapcycle issue... valve wanted to spice things up i guess and decided to move the mapcycle to the cfg folder. Don't even get me started. What the shit.

As of right now I think everything is working on both servers - a HUGE ASS MOTHERFUCKING THANK YOU to Gamecubic who (without me even asking) figured out why the airaccel wasnt working. Apparently sm_cvar is obsolete??? So much for just moving files to a new folder... anyways this genius went in and changed it so eventscripts sets it instead (i would have NEVER thought of that...) and that shit works now too.

IF you find something that is still broken feel free to post it here and I may give a fuck tomorrow.

the air accel is actually set correctly in the server config file so i am not sure why that isnt working... the real issue though was eventscripts would not load at all... so far we have a beta version up and running on surf it but the air accel still isnt working. I'll try to figure out more later.

Think of it this way... if updates that are simply updating/adding files to the game completely break sourcemod... this update should have been equivalent to sourcemod doomsday.

Not sure why people are surprised that this massive update which literally moved all the game files to completely new places resulted in broken servers. Especially ones dependent on plugins to function correctly. When other updates broke everything we could usually just run an autoinstaller for sourcemod / eventscripts in install a fixed version. I have no clue if those autoinstallers work now with steam pipe.


I really expected everyone to assume the servers would be broken after this massive change... guess not. I am headed to work and i will look around and see if i can do anything from there.

It is today... as far as the iT servers getting updated....

Per NFO: We will be applying this update early tomorrow morning (Wednesday, May 1), between midnight and 6am local time to servers; during that time, you will see your server go offline for some period of time, then come back up as the new version.

Derpus is only an admin on the surf servers so you will only encounter his admining there. The admining has gotten a bit out of control lately and I will most likely be removing some people.

Btw i didnt mean my post negative towards tip of the hats in ANY way... I was honored they mentioned us as much as they did!! And getting invited on the stream to yap about the servers for a few min was a HUGE honor!! Lots of people have told me the jump portion was their favorite part so great job to the jumpers who were in there! Also great job to the surfers as that part has also gotten a buttload of praise!!

I dont expect that big of an influx in jumpers from tip of the hats - I expect them to come with dellorts new movie. And we will do what we do every year when he releases a movie - enjoy them for the week they stick around =)

We see this with every jump movie... sadly it is very short lived  :(

Keep in mind chat flows between 4 servers and irc so when you are annoying on 1 server, ALL the servers have to deal with you.
