Sorry for replying to an older thread, and this problem may or may not have been already resolved, but I'd like to share something anyway.
If you stand still, can you crouch at all? If that's not the case, your crouch key is not properly bound. Go into options > keyboard tab and bind your crouch key again. I hope this will help you out a bit.
