How come the loading times are so long today every time we change maps?

Here it isn't longer than any other server, except when there is a new song or map.

Any other server always loaded a lot faster than Chillout ever did for me. Probably due to the amount of models, textures and sounds it has to load.

dude...
i have none of these problems...

on nearly any server i go on i seem to always be the first to connect/get in a map,
even on american/brazilian/japanese and australian servers, and i don't even have an uber pc anymore

so im not sure what exactly causes all that, but... a loading bottleneck is usually the harddrive and/or fragmentation, so maybe try and defrag tf2 files and if that doesnt work defrag your game drive (which you should do at least once a year anyway)

otherwise, check if your ram isnt being exceeded, though that would also cause massive fps loss, which your not saying much about so i doubt it'd be that

lastly... connection speed ofc, if you have slow upload it cant send the initial info very fast, which means your game wont load the needed stuff until it finally gets a reply.. which could also be the cause of slow loadings

if neither of these seem to be the case... then i dunno

nahh  its very simple i think

Hl2  startup  is always slow.... compered to other games.

Also it depends on your settings.

High resolution with all effects and so on takes longer to load.

Any gamestuff is hosted in that shitty  gtf file so all missing stuff need to be extracted.

Many custom stuff = longer checklist

Solutions.

Extract game content

Use lower settings.

If u dont have a SSD go get one it is so nice.

Yeah, I'm trying to connect now, and it's just kinda trying to redownload all the packages.

Yup, same problem here aswell. Used to be pretty fast like its only checking the files every time i connect. Now it seems its actually downloading the files each time and it takes ages.
