tl;dr I think the idea that it becoming more public would break the game is stupid (see comp banning it argument above and Valve being a lot more active fixing glitches as of late), but I do understand why people want to keep it under their hats.

Would it break the game if it became public? No.

Would it mess with comp (outside of a few low-key games people don't notice)? No, probably not.

Is it worth the mess of it by willingly spreading it? I say no, myself.

Pretty much a more concise version of my post yeah. Doesn't add anything of worth and this game is broken enough as is.

I honestly don't see how it would be an issue in competitive - Not saying it's useless, quite the opposite, but it would get flagged and disabled in comp. before it could even be an issue. If you want to get your matches overturned pretty sure there are easier ways.

As it stands it's simply a way to cheat jump maps. You could bring in the ctap argument as I recall people did last time this thread came up, but comparing a glitch that requires the use of a cvar to a ctap is kindof retarded imo. I'm not even sure if the way I do it is exactly the same as wonderland's method, but I seem to get the same result so whatever.

Jump Help / Re: Wallpogo with original?

If you know how wallpogo'ing differs with the Original compared to stock isn't it just a case of putting in the hours? I always assumed wallpogo's with the Original is easier.

Jump Help / Re: +duck on mouse2

All I wanted to hear.

Figured out the problem with my ctaps too and ironically it had nothing to do with the timing, simply a case of bad placement on the rockets getting me just short where I wanted to go.

Can lock this up now I guess. Cheers for the help.

Nah I hear you. If having duck on mouse2 won't hamper or stop me getting consistent ctaps, then I'm rolling with it. Simply wanted to know if it's something that's ill advised or whatever.

Jump Help / +duck on mouse2
« on: May 09, 2013, 01:44:35 PM »
Firstly, heys - Amazing forum. Wealth of knowledge for jumpers here and it's really appreciated.

My question is pretty straightforward - Key configurations are largely preference, so no need to repeat that back to me - I simply want to know if having duck bound to mouse2 can be detrimental to jumping in terms of getting consistent with ctaps. Right now it feels easier, but that could just be to inexperience and confusing partial ctaps with getting good distance consistently (granary ramp jump etc).

In general mouse2 for duck seems to give me the best consistency on my jumps, but I'm pretty flexible - Simply don't want to get into bad practice and regret it when I try and get my ctaps down proper.

Help is appreciated, thanks in advance and great forum.
