Heres what i posted on tftv:

Hey guys - the time has finally come for me to shut down the iT servers... I just dont have the time / resources to keep them up. I wanted to make a post here though in case anyone wants ftp access to them before they go down (in case anyone wants to put up new surf servers or whatnot). Anyways thanks for all the support over the years and I love you all.

Server Shutdown Dates:

Surf iT   -  1/03/2014
Jump iT   -  1/10/2014
MGE iT    -  1/14/2014
Bball iT  -  1/21/2014
JuJump iT -  1/23/2014

SuSurf iT and Surf iT EU were graciously provided by tragicservers.com so I will have to update with the dates for those but yeah... add me if you want ftp access to any of these servers to get their info. If it takes me a few days to add back / reply to you its just because I am not home much anymore... don't take it personally

Thank you all again for all the support all these years and be sure to root for iT at LAN!!!!

I am sorry if that post came off like i was asking for money from you guys - that is NOT what I was trying to do (but thank you for the donation  ). Don't get me wrong donations are amazing and go straight back into the servers... but I have never wanted to have the servers running off of donations. I wanted to provide them for you guys.

I think most people have noticed I have barely been around at all the past  year or so... I rarely even join the servers to say hi. That spark in me has just pretty much faded... which I think just happens after running shit for a long time. A faded spark doesnt mean I dont love running the servers anymore though... I love that people love them... when someone on a random server sees me and tells me they love the servers it literally makes my year. But I know that there is also a point where i need to call it quits and I do not want to do that out of nowhere to you guys - thats where that rant came from.

The past week has been an emotional rollercoaster for me so I am all over the place. Not even menopause assholes.

Just a quick update on the status of the iT! servers - some of you may have noticed that Jump iT, Surf iT, and JuJump iT all have fewer slots than they used to. Due to a much lower average player count I am downsizing the servers a bit. SuSurf iT and Surf iT - EU are very graciously provided to us for free from tragicservers.com (who you should all be buying from if you need servers!!!) so their slots will not be changing.

I am going to get a little personal since I know there are a lot of people out there who love the servers almost as much as I do - So here is a little update... I am leaving my job today (my last day  )  after 7 1/2 years and taking a new position where my starting salary will be significantly smaller than my current one. Changing jobs was never something I planned on or ever even though about, but life throws one hell of a curveball and sometimes you have to take a huge step back to even think about going forward... life lessons bitches. Take notes. Anyways I have been very very fortunate at this old job and was able to manage the servers / babysit you guys on irc all day while at work. I also had the luxury of being pretty carefree about money, which is pretty evident in the expansion from 1 jump server to 6 jump / surf / bball / MGE servers in the US, a new EU surf server, and sponsorship of TF2 teams in the last few seasons (YOU SHOULD ALL BE WATCHING AND CHEERING AT EVERY GAME BTW!!!). I have absolutely LOVED being able to provide all of this, and I really do feel like the servers are my children.

Since so much is changing for me in my real life, I really felt like this was the time to retire the iT servers and was planning on shutting everything down in February 2014 after ESEA LAN (since Team iT will be going). I was going to give whoever wanted to put up replacement servers access to the ftp to get whatever files they need then saying goodnight to the iT family. I have spent so much time thinking about what to do with the servers over the past week its almost embarrassing... but thats how much I love what has become of these misfit servers. I cant imagine ever letting someone take over for me because I have this view of my servers and their reputation that I wouldnt want anyone to tarnish... but thinking about shutting them down altogether is heartbreaking.

Right now I do not know what is going to happen, but snipping some empty slots off the servers was a good start, and I felt it was the right thing to do to let everyone know in advance about the possibility of the servers shutting down so if someone DID want to put something up they would have plenty of time. No matter what happens though, I cannot say enough thank yous to everyone for all the love and support these servers have received over the past 3 years. You guys are the only reason that these servers were successful... thank you thank you thank you.

Nah I am almost sure he is bitching because he thinks he doesnt have admin... just last week on irc he said something about not having admin or wanting admin or something.

Literally added him 6 months ago bc he fixed the bot for us ... maybe i never told him.

I actually thought I gave afterglow admin like a year ago... apparently I didnt. And Aurora I have told to remind/message me about adding as admin like 10 times and I STILL HAVENT GOTTEN A REMINDER. Tort smells of old cheese but for some reason I thought he was an admin already too. You 3 misfits should post your steam ids because i know we need some new admins.

Also I know about the issue where Jump and JuJump do not allow you to join a team and the server needs to be rebooted in order to fix this. I added slowdana to help with rebooting the server, but if someone else wants to step up (who is on in the morning US time as thats when I usually see it is broken) post that as well.

I will be adding a couple people today. FYI this is only for surf it admin - i do not need admins on jump it at this time. Also the capping on susurf / surfit eu has been fixed so that shouldnt be an issue anymore.

Also I moved this thread to the surf it board where it should have been posted...

Trust me you are not magically going to figure out whats going wrong on susurf / surf EU with the cap disable - its like people dont believe me that I tried for weeks and have literally done anything and everything that SHOULD work. I know the map with the biggest issues was derpis - which i did not put on the EU server since I knew there would be a shortage of admins for a while. The admin list from susurf was copied to EU so in case you didnt know... if you have admin on susurf you also have it on surfit eu - Surf iT *SHOULD* also have the same admin list...

I do not like setting people up with admin on 1 single server as I already cant keep track of who has power where... so for the most part admin is given to someone for all of those types of servers (surf / jump / etc) and I know we need some helping hands around the surf servers.

So heres the deal - nominate people who you think would be good for admin and what server they play on the most - that way I dont get a bunch of people voting for themselves. Start nominating surf heads!
