General Discussion / NA + EU TF2Jump Bball Tournament Signups
« on: July 27, 2013, 12:19:00 PM »
Any discussion about rules, servers, scheduling or whatever, bring over to the discussion thread here

Hey guys, since we've all been talking about having a cross continental bball tournament, lets do it. At this point, we're just asking for signups to see what kind of crowd we get for this.  I'm not going to post this on teamfortress.tv or reddit or anything, because this is mostly a jumper vs jumper thing we were planning. But likely won't deny non-jumper entries

Just post in this thread with a link to your steam profile, and a link to your partner's steam profile, and your desired team name. Also your nationality:  IE:

Name: Dunt Cestroyers
Me: http://steamcommunity.com/id/kairu927
Partner: http://steamcommunity.com/id/kairu927
East Coast America

If you have a server you are able to provide for your matches, would be cool to mention that in your post.  All a server requires is the map ctf_ballin_sky, and some type of sourcemod plugin to allow a 2-second respawn.

Rules are as follows:

- Stock weapons and stock reskins. (I consider Original a re-skin)
- No goaltending.  Accidents happen and you may land on your own net, but do your best to get down in a couple seconds.  Honour system here, try not to make the other team report you.

If you guys have any problems with those rules let me know, they're still open to discussion, but they're just what I thought we should have at a bare minimum.

All matches will be in a best of 3 format. The team higher on the bracket will have home-field advantage. Matches will alternate servers unless the team agrees upon staying on one. In the case where it is NA vs EU, one server will be hosted in America, one in Europe.  Whereabouts the players can decide upon, otherwise we'll see about maybe getting ahold of some servers for teams to use.

Scheduling: This won't take place over one day, but several.  You may talk to your opponents to see what time would be best.  Remember that Since this is multi-continental we may need to wait a few days for someone to play their match due to time-zone issues. We'll decide how long players get for their match at a later point.

As for incentive, I don't really have much I can give, but if we get enough people I may buy a couple keys to throw in, or something.  If anyone wants to put something forward for people to play for, that's fine too. Just let me know that you do and we can tally some shit.

Signups end in exactly one week: that is, 1:18pm EST, August 3rd.

How to play:

So this is how games will go down: the server will be loaded into mp_tournament on ctf_ballin_sky. I'm not sure what settings you may need, but we will play 10 minute rounds. You will play best of three rounds like this, except for finals which will play best of five. Be sure to follow the rules mentioned above, and have fun.

Remember to have a sourcemod plugin to bring respawns down to 2 seconds.

"mp_tournament 1"
"mp_timelimit 10"
"mp_tournament_stopwatch 0"

For at least the first two rounds, you can coordinate with your opponent team to find when to play on your own, but if you don't play your first round game by next monday, I'll consider it a DQ. If you try to get ahold of the other team, and they don't respond, screenshot logs or something to let me know you tried, so I can pick who to advance.

Keep track of how many rounds you win, then you can come back to this thread and report your win 2-0 or 2-1. It is preferred that you post a demo of the game just for sick fragclips later or something, if someone feels up to it, but not required.

Enjoy.

I'm not sure if info was given away or something, but someone appears to have replaced their name in place of everyone else's in the database.  If you do a speedrun so that it uploads another time, it will put your name back in, but at the moment there are hundreds of the same guy there.

Not sure if this was due to leaked info, or something bugged on a server, or what, but go take a look.

Sourcemod Information / Engineer Jumping Plugin

Anybody have any information on a name or somewhere I can find it?  Checked Sourcemod and alliedmodders to no avail and want to try and set up a server locally for some engineer recording.

CrancK's plugins / Conc grenade changes
« on: September 25, 2012, 06:35:40 PM »
So there are two changes that I've noticed.  They bounce, and the angle they exit has been changed. I've heard other people saying that the beeping has changed, but it doesn't seem like that to me at all, the bouncing is incredibly obnoxious though.

Is there any plan on maybe reverting these? I know your aim my have been on making it similar to TFC conc grenades, but the tf2 maps really aren't designed with those in mind, and the bouncing is just incredibly annoying. In order to just get it stopped on the ground I need to find some crazy angle in a corner to stop the crazy bounces. I've been having better luck tossing straight up and trying to jump when it comes back down than I have trying to drop it, since it bounces back up to my face.

As for the angle change, I can't even juggle anymore unless I have a wall to throw them at.  Even straight down, the angle is incredibly high.

First off... apologies that it ended up being 12 minutes long... I'll try to do shorter maps in the future.

Also:  didn't realize I had steam popups on, but was already far into the recording and decided to just keep 'em.

Jump IT / JuJump iT / Fov

Is there any way we can have this command either removed, or changed in such a way that it doesn't spam chat anymore?

Using /fov won't spam chat, but it's annoying as hell when one person goes !fov in chat, then suddenly 25 people start freaking spamming it... so annoying...

Not sure why I had this in bballit forum before...
