Latest releases & News / Skillsrank (mysql-version)
« on: January 10, 2011, 07:02:11 AM »
ok, i think i have about everything done/ready, but i'm obviously not sure yet, and i dunno yet how well it'll handle multiple people.

So, if people would like to help me out by registering and doing some jump maps on my testserver and using the speedrun thingy ofc, that would be very much appreciated.

thus, message me if you have some time left, and i'll set the server to any map (that i have, and have made a course for, not many atm, will be more soonish, just very boring work) you want, and ill turn off all the other mods on there, and i'll give you password

ip: 94.75.238.176:27015

ohw also, obviously any shizzle you notice about new version (good/bad), pls do post that here

also, theres no showing of the stats atm, cos webstats still in construction, the testing idea is more about me checking database functionality, and wether people like the positioning of courses and wether stuff doesnt bug out

Mapping Tutorials / Those weird glasses
« on: December 27, 2010, 02:32:22 AM »
How to make all the different kinds of glass where something can go through?

i know how to make stuff go through but not players, which is by making the brush itself a func_illusionary/func_brush, and around it make a playerclip

but how to make it so the player can go through but not the rocket/sticky/conc?
physbox_multiplayer i heard? and lots of setting had to be set in that? Matti explained it to me once, but it might be nice to have it somewhere where i can read it back, since i forgot  ::)

also, physbox is a moveable thing right? (bit annoying to use)

Hey w33d,

4th and 5th song (well i wouldnt mind any song from this avi, but that would just be nostalgic reasons :P)

http://www.euroskillz.eu/downloads/download.php?fname=./avi/TFC/Lost_Souls-Still_Concing.zip

first song, not the song where the names come up, but the song where the scouts fight the 2 heavys (it also keeps going on when they start concing)

General Discussion / Favorite jumpmap?
« on: December 20, 2010, 05:54:54 AM »
As thread title implies, what is your favorite jumpmap (or jump)?
(and if possible, also a bit of why)

for me, i'm still in love with speed2, just for the nostalgic factor,
but the map i most like to play would be jump_ABuQ, because the jumps can be done in so many ways
(though in that idea littleman is close up, but i don't really like littlemans jumps themselves.. so)

Requests / Requests/suggestions for skillsrank
« on: December 17, 2010, 01:56:39 PM »
as the name of thread implies, requests and/or suggestions go here:

(already got some through steam):

-point system needs revamping
and i kinda agree, i just dunno how to go about it really, some input would very much be appreciated

-autoregistering new players
going to add, but i will make it optional, since if thats on, you'll get loads of accounts thatll never be used

-change admin flag for sm_amenu
probably gonna make that a cvar then

-change sm_checkmap to sm_top
np, gonna do

General Discussion / Any suggestions for conc-mod perhaps?
« on: December 17, 2010, 02:06:59 AM »
Hey guys,

just a small thread for concmod, cos i'm not planning on making it very extensive,
i have however already received some requests for stuff, and was wondering if thats all.
things i'm gonna do already(suggestions already given):

-remove the "1 of x max nades" used message
-make !conchelp show a visual timer for each conc
-make concs bouncy (have to wait for another plugin to be able to do this though)

-(checking how to script it so you can click once to hold nade, click 2x to drop, should be possible without sourcemod but in an alias i think, but i haven't got a clue about aliases and shizz)

Jump Help / Jump trick names?
« on: December 16, 2010, 02:15:42 AM »
i've seen/noticed people using certain names for certain things/techniques, like doublerj, skip, pogo and so on
and i kinda wondered how many names we have for different techniques,
and wether or not, american/euro/aussie? have different names for the same things.

so ye, names/techs i can think of off the top of my head:

Rocket Jump (no shit ey :P ) (stickyjump for demo)
Pogo (no touching ground, staying just in air by riding the explosions)
Skip (touching ground for a couple of frames, before rocket hits, basically a bhop rocketjump, but people like to call it differently)
Double/Triple/Quadruple/Quintuple/etc rj
Wall Pogo (riding explosions on wall)
(Pogo up/down? (seperate technique?))

Juggling/Midair Stickyjumping(?) or would that be called airpogo?

any more? or only variations of the above? (like doubleskip, or doublewallpogo)

Latest releases & News / Skillsrank (sqlite-Version)
« on: December 07, 2010, 07:25:38 AM »
Plugin for speedrun stats, now with sqlite, menus and some more stuff...

This isn't the final version yet, but it is fully working

Commands:
!srstats
!amenu (needs to be admin, otherwise after 3 times you get kicked (or maybe banned, not sure)
!setnick [name]
!stoptimer
!srhelp
!topmaps
!top

for those that don't want to use the menu, most of it can also be done by chat commands:
!top [course] (shows top times for all classes for current map for course x)
!top [course] [mapname] (toptimes, all classes, course x, map x)
!top [course] [classname] (toptimes, only class x, course x, current map)
!top [course] [mapname] [classname] (toptimes, only class x, course x, map x)
!checkdifficulty
!checkubers
!regme

for admin:
!emptymap (empties all data for current map from db, but keeps the tables (dunno why you'd wanna use this, was usefull for me during testing though))
!resetpos (clears the servers memory of positions (shouldn't need to be used))
!savestart [course] [modelpath] (if you want different models)
!savecheckpoint [course] [modelpath] (if you want different models)
!savefinish [course] [modelpath] (if you want different models)

CVARs:
sr_enabled 0/1, def: 1 (for turning the plugin completely off)
sr_keywords "string, string", def: "jump,rj_" and some more (on maps with these prefixes, the plugin can be used, sr_enabled also has to be 1 ofc)
sr_allowclass "soldier, demo"  (for deciding which classes are allowed to speedrun)
sr_startmodel "models/skillsrank/pillar/pillar.mdl"
sr_finishmodel "models/skillsrank/pillar/pillar.mdl"
sr_cpmodel "models/props_gameplay/cap_point_base.mdl"
sr_autoreg_players 0/1/2 (0=off, 1=reg on touching pole, 2=always reg)
sr_autoreg_maps 0/1 (0=off, 1=always reg as long as map is found with sr_keywords)
sr_menuadminflag "1" (0=generic, 1=root)

To Do list:
-red skin for start/finish pillar
-checkpoint model
-any usefull suggestions
-fixing any bugs that come up
-making premade clean db with positions for all/most jump maps already set
-fixing !topmaps
-fixing download not working
-possibly improving the saving position in menu

Install Instructions
-Needs sourcemod and metamod
-Needs SDKHooks : http://forums.alliedmods.net/showthread.php?t=106748
-Download skillsrank.rar, and extract the tf folder to the tf folder
-Either move databases.cfg from root folder of the .rar to tf/addons/sourcemod/configs or add the skillsrank bit to your already existing one

-also, for now you need a downloader plugin to download the custom pillar, because somehow at some point the @!%$@g downloadfunction stopped working

Setting up Maps:
-Needs admins setup with admin flag set by sr_menuadminflag
-!amenu, (will check if you're registered, if not it'll ask you to register)
from there, start by registering the map into db (creating the tables in db)
the menu will then automatically take you into the coursebuilding part,
which starts by asking which course,
after which it'll ask you which kind of point you want to save on the location you're at (your coordinates are the coordinates that are saved to db)
the moment you choose the end, it'll ask you what difficulty you want the course to have,
and when you choose done, it'll upload all the points to database

from there on either use the menu to reload the models or create more courses, or do both or whatever

Download:
www.arpcon.info/downloads/mod.rar

Thanks to Bl4ckie (for model), rush (for logical stuff), clf, 11, matti + anyone else that i now forgot that helped me test
