If anybody wants to look at jump volcanic in hammer, here it is, along with all the custom content I used.

using visgroups, cordon and hide/show objects, you can select only parts of the map to look at, and certain things in it...

Apparently, I'm a robot.
Lol I actually decompiled volcanic to find out what lava textures you had so I could steal them :P.

those custom tele and hurt textures you use make it a pain to see whats going on but after just replacing textures it's about what I expected from someone who has some experience.

FYI for less experienced people...
Your first map is most likely going to be a whole bunch of square blocks of probably very few textures....like minecraft to a degree.

heres a prefab for the doors in jump volcanic: http://www.mediafire.com/?p19di12yd01m0e9


p.s., heres a tip to make multiple doors easily

copy, then click edit > paste special
number of copies to paste: 1
set an offset if you want, but keep rotation all at 0, and select 'make pasted entity names unique', then click ok, and another working copy of the door will be pasted, without having to rename all the ents.
